Lok des Monats: August

 

T steht für Traktor, m für Verbrennungsmotor und das IV für die vierte Baureihe, und alles zusammen ergibt eine schöne Diesellok. Wer mehr über den Tm IV erfahren will, kann sich entweder über Wikipedia schlau machen, oder er / sie ersteht sich das Buch „Triebfahrzeuge von SBB Cargo“ von Christian Ochsner. Und wer dieses Buch gelesen hat, weiss dann so ziemlich alles über Schweizer Loks im Güterzug-Business, nicht nur über den Tm IV.

Aber hier geht es ja auch primär um die Modellumsetzung. Mein Tm IV stammt von Weinert. Obwohl dieses Modell noch aus den letzten Jahrtausend stammt, ist es – wie es sich für ein Weinert-Modell gehört – formenbaumässig immer noch bei den Leuten. Weil es sich beim Tm IV um ein in der Schweiz recht weit verbreitetes Vorbild handelt, erstaunt es, dass sich bis heute noch kein Grossserienhersteller dieses Modells angenommen hat. Inzwischen ist zwar ein Modell von LSM angekündigt, aber eben erst angekündigt. Da sich auch einige Privatbahnen Tm IV zugelegt haben, ist es natürlich auch ein interessantes Modell für meine Sammlung, und wie sich zeigt, macht es sich auch gut vor Nebenbahnzügen…

The model I present you today is made by Weinert (http://www.weinert-modellbau.de/) and even if this model was developed in the last century, it is still an eye candy. I wonder why none of the great producers has a Tm IV in his collection, because these engines can be spotted all over Switzerland and a few short lines have them in their fleet as well. LSM has it announced, but it is still an announcement. Its existence by short lines and its use by the SBB to haul short freight trains makes it a great addition to my collection.
