Ich weiss, ich wiederhole mich. Aber zu meiner Entschuldigung erlaube ich mir anzumerken, dass diese Lok

1.       Nicht als Zug des Monats präsentiert habe, und

2.       Die Bilder damals auch nicht über alle Zweifel erhaben sind, und ich

3.       Damals noch keine zusätzlichen Texte auf Englisch beigefügt habe.

Also zurück zum Wesentlichen: Ich habe eine Bm 4/4“ von Fulgurex in meiner Sammlung und als Schweizer Modellbähnler und Fan von Dieselloks ist sie für mich somit etwas spezielles. Denn die SBB hatte praktisch keine Streckendiesel in ihrem Portefeuille. Wie immer möchte ich in diesem Zusammenhang für das Wissenswerte zum Vorbild auf Wikipedia verweisen.

Vor einiger Zeit wurde ein entsprechendes Modell von HAG auf den Markt gebracht, aber mein Modell stammt von Fulgurex aus einer Serie aus dem Jahr 1985. Ja, damals war ich noch ganz klein, unschuldig und hatte ganz sicher das Geld für ein solches Modell noch nicht. Ein paar Jährchen später – ich war noch immer unschuldig, ganz wenig grösser und hatte vielleicht ein kleines bisschen mehr Geld zur Verfügung – ergab sich der für mich glückliche Umstand, dass ein Modellbahngeschäft in Zürich langsam aber stetig aufgab und ich dort diese Lok neben ein paar anderen Schätzen erstehen konnte. Nach den obligaten schlaflosen Nächten natürlich!

Ich hatte damals so eine riesige Freude an meiner Bm 4/4“, dass ich einmal sogar eine Anlage nur für sie geplant habe.

 

Gut, man sieht meiner Bm 4/4“ inzwischen an, dass schon 29 Jahre seit ihrer Ankunft aus Südostasien vergangen sind, aber vielleicht abgesehen von den Fenstern kann sie es noch gut mit dem einiges jüngeren Pendant von HAG aufnehmen.

BTW: meanwhile I have on some days more readers from  non-german-speaking countries, than of Switzerland, Austria or Germany. I hope they don’t use my texts as bad examples in their language classes. Back to the important things in life: the Bm 4/4”. Unfortunately there is no entry in Wikipedia about this engine in English. (The link to the German entry can be found above in the German text.) But that is not a big surprise than first of all has or had the SBB nearly no Diesel engines because here in Switzerland almost all lines are electrified and the only need for Diesels are as shunters or on construction sites. And the Bm 4/4” was only built twice. When the engine was presented at the Swiss National Fair in 1939 it was more an advertising for potential export markets than as a need for swiss railways. And the most years of their existents they spent of a siding track waiting for duties. While one is scrapped meanwhile the second unit belongs to the collection of SBB Historic.

My model was made for Fulgurex as one of a series of 230 units in the year 1985 somewhere in Asia. The gears are from Tenshodo. Even if the model has its age, it is still nice. Except the windows glassing, there are made of opaque plastic foil. Just a few years ago HAG produced a model of this prototype as well, and I have to say: I saw no reason to by such a model, because they weren’t much more detailed than mine.
